Kung Fu Philosophy: "奔马缩山"

This statement by Kung Fu master Lu Feng Lin loosely translates to "the galloping horse makes mountains seem insignificant."

Many traditional paintings of galloping horses include nature scenery in the background, like mountains or trees. Yet, the causal observer of the painting remembers the sense of natural power that emanates from the image of the galloping horse over the image of the majestic mountains in the background.

Ultimately, martial arts ability should come from the natural internal strength cultivated by the practitioner.  After the body has been trained to follow the mind's directions, then, the practitioner can obtain a natural presence and martial art ability that makes mountains seem insignificant.
